Where the hell have I been?

Havent updated for awhile.

Fitness wise things are going good. weight is 182ish.

Maintaining weight with low carb food choices and exercise.

Exercise is generally made up of two work outs a day, in the morning either spin classes or circuit training. Evening work out is swimming. I suck at swimming, so Id rather talk about the spin class.

Spinning hurts. Its really hard and you sweat like a pig.

If your a guy, the first thing you notice when you walk in is that you are likely the only guy in the room.

The room will be full of women, of all ages, and types, dressed in tight workout gear. You will probably think this is pretty cool. You will think so right up until the class starts.

As soon as the class starts you will forget about women, spandex and all of the other distractions in the room. You will only think about how much it hurts, how much air you need, and how bad you want to stop.

What kind of torture chamber could cause a healthy man to completely forget about the desire to reproduce?

Weigh In 2-24-09

Havent done a weigh in for awhile now - This mornings weight 178.2.

While Im still low carb, I’m not in induction anymore. Mostly controlling my weight with low carb food choices and exercise.

The swimming has really made a difference lately.

Before I started swimming, I was content to maintain a weight of 181-180, but since I started swimming, Im dropping about 1/2 lb a week.

Workin out

So what am I doing for my workouts?

I start out with 30 minutes on the ellipticle machine for a warm up.

Next - weights. Today was legs so it was leg press, leg curl and leg extension.

followed by 8 sets on the ab machines, and 8 for shoulders - military press and shrugs.

I wrap it up with 25 minutes running. I bump that up 5 minutes every month.

On the off days, I swim. roughly 30 minutes. Not that I can swim for 30 minutes, but thats how long im in the pool :)

The Gym

I finally bit the bullet and joined a gym. So far its working out well. Lotsa nice workout equipment and the different location seems to help focus on the workout.

Before I would grab 20minutes in the morning and 20 minutes at night so I could workout a bit, but I was always rushing to finish, or distracted by whatever else was going on in the house. Now, I walk into the place knowing I’m going to be there for at least an hour and a half.

So far I’ve had some really good workouts, I really like the crunch machine. Surprisingly, the indoor track is probably my favorite part. I didnt think I’d like running indoors, but they pipe music into the track so I dont need my headphones. Theres just something about running without dodging snowbanks, cars and idiot snowplows that makes it more fun.

SInce the week before Thanksgiving, Im down close to 6lbs. Not bad for the holiday period.

3lbs to my ideal weight range, 8 to go till my goal.

8 inches lost!

Heading out to buy a blazer, so I took a few measurements.

Todays belly measurement - 40 inches, down from an original measurement of 48 in August.  

Chest measured in at 42 inches, I dont even know the last time my chest measured larger than my belly.

Hooray for me!

Happy New Year!

The holidays are over.

Finally.

 

Time to re-commit to diet and exercise programs. I still plan to loose about 10ish lbs and Bikini season is just a few months away.

Time to get busy on my motorcycle again, so it will be ready to ride in the spring.

Im sure that there are a lot of things that Ive put off or neglected since Thanksgiving. Ill have to get those sorted out also.

my-calorie-counter.com = virus!

A friend of mine recommended this site. “my-calorie-counter.com”. The site allows you to create a journal that tracks your meals (including calories and carb count) plus exercise activities and allows you to gauge your progressby day, week etc.

Sounds great right? Wrong.

Everytime I try the site, my McAffee software goes apeshit, trying to block/remove the Exploit Real virus.

In honor of this site, I have created a new tag - Shit Heads. I hope they wear it with pride.
